We hope you enjoy them and please return as often as you wish   PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE   Greetings, from the 2007-2008 President of the Butler Lions Club, Steven S. Bonnett. Our club was founded in 1923. We are the 3rd oldest Lions Club in District 14N. We will be celebrating our 85th anniversary on June 15, 2008. Meetings are held the first and third Tuesdays of each month. During the summer months we meet at Alameda Park at the Lions shelter and from October till May we meet at the Blind Assocation. The Blind Association is directly behind the Gulf Station on North Main Street. Meetings begin promptly at 6:30 p.m.. If you are interested in joining a service organization that focuses on blind, diabetic, and youth drug awareness among other issues facing our community feel free to stop by a meeting or see any local Lion. New faces are always welcome.   BUTLER LIONS CLUB BULLETIN BOARD HELP US GIVE LEXI AND CODY THE GIFT OF SIGHT!!    THE LIONS CLUBS OF OF DISTRICT 14N ALONG WITH OTHER LIONS CLUBS AND MANY LOCAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS ARE RAISING MONEY TO SEND BOTH CODY AND LEXI TO CHINA TO RECEIVE A NEW TREATMENT NOT AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES.  WITH THIS TREATMENT IT IS HOPEFUL THAT LEXI AND CODY WILL REGAIN THEIR SIGHT. MAY 20, 2008 - MEMBERSHIP MEETING NUMBER TWO  WILL BE A TOUR OF OBERG INDUSTRIES IN FREEPORT, PA. Club members will meet at the Sheetz Gas Station on top of Center Avenue Hill and proceed to Oberg Industires in a group.  We will leave Sheetz at 5:30 PM and arrive at Oberg at approximitely 6 PM.  It is also OK to drive your own car and meet our group there.  A box lunch will be served once we enter Oberg and then a tour will be given by Lion Neil Ashbaugh who is a Oberg Employee.  We will arrive back in Butler at around 8 PM. MAY 27, 2008 - BOARD MEETING AT THE BLIND ASSOCIATION. JUNE 3, 2008 - MEMBERSHIP MEETING #1 AT ALAMEDA PARK. Induction of the 2008-2009 new officers will take place.  These officer will not assume duties until July 1, 2008. JUNE 7, 2008 - SECOND SESSION OF ADOPT-A-HIGHWAY. JUNE 9-12, 2008 - BROOM AND BAG SALE.    JUNE 16 2008 MONDAY -  BUTLER LIONS CLUB 85TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION ALONG WITH OUR ANNUAL LAW APPRECIATION NIGHT.
