MASTER GARDNER

THIS EVENT WAS JUST COMPLETED AND WAS A HUGH SUCCESS!

Spring Garden Market:  Once again we had a successful outing at this event which was held on May 14 at the Succop Conservancy, with over $600 in sales.  Thanks to Lion Art Black for coordinating this project and to all the Lions who helped.

Butler County Master Gardener Event

May 14th 9 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the Succop Conservancy, 185 West Airport Road, Butler, PA.

The Butler County Master Gardeners spend their volunteer time working on a variety of gardens and gardening education projects. They provide speakers for local groups and plant gardens throughout the county. Gardens usually have a theme - herbs or vegetables or attracting butterflies - and must be educational in nature. One of their biggest projects (in terms of numbers of Master Gardeners involved) is the Spring Garden Market and is the event that our Butler Lions Club support.

The Spring Garden Market is an enchanting mix of plants, crafts, workshops, tours and food.  This year, 2010 marks the eighth year for the event, held at The Succop Conservancy, a 50-acre estate in Penn Township. It is the perfect event for gardeners to get their season started right.
For more information about the Spring Garden Market
.

Our Butler Lions Club staffs a booth at this event, sells Bags and Brooms as a fund raiser for our club, and provides information on Lionism and Diabetes.   We also donate a door prize for the Master Garderner to award to a lucky winner.

The Butler Lions Club part of the event / fundraiser is chaired by Lion Art Black.  Art needs help from our members to staff the booth.  A signup sheet will be passed at a future club meeting.
