WELCOME TO THE CHAIRPERSONS PAGE OF THE PROGRAM COMMITTEE!
THE VICE PRESIDENT IN CHARGE OF THIS COMMITTEE IS LION JOHN HERTZOG.
THE COMMITTEE CO-CHAIRPERSONS ARE LIONS JOHN HOUSTON AND LARRY PARISI.
COMMITTEE MEMBERS ARE LIONS: DEAN JONES, BOB BARON, MIKE WINKLER, DON MCCANDLESS AND BILL HETRICK.
Christmas Party: Our Club’s Christmas party was held on December 21 at the Blind Association. The party was well attended and featured a social hour with some fine wine, punch and hors d’oeuvres. Dinner was outstanding; our musical entertainment (Logan Olszewski and her parents Suzi and Bill) was excellent; there were many nice door prizes given away; the sing-a-long was enjoyable under the leadership of Lion Larry Jack (Lion Sam we missed you!); the jolly old elf himself was there and handed out goodie bags to the kids. I don’t know if Lion Bill got a goodie bag but he sure enjoyed sitting on Santa’s lap! And of course, the evening ended with those wonderful white elephant gifts. Lion John Houston did a tremendous job as the emcee of the evening. There were many Lions involved with putting this special night together; our thanks to Lions John Hertzog, John Houston, Larry Parisi, Dean Jones, Don McCandless, Steve Bonnett, George Bonnett, Bob Baron, Bill Hetrick and King Lion Gary Miller.
Visitation Schedule: The visitation schedule is incorporated in the calendar below. We will be making ten visits, all on Thursday nights. In January, we will be visiting Worthington on January 13 and Slippery Rock on January 20. Lion Jennifer is scheduled to be the program that night at Slippery Rock. For the two January visits we will meet at the Clearview Mall parking lot (by Sears). Worthington starts at 6:30 so we will leave the parking lot at 5:30; Slippery Rock meets at 6:00 so we will leave the parking lot at 5:15. Sign-up sheets will be circulated starting at our Jan. 4 meeting. Please try and keep a few Thursdays open and join us as we visit our fellow District 14N clubs. Contact Lion Wink with any question.
Butler Lions Valentine’s Day Meeting: Our second meeting in February (February 15) will be a spouse/friend night. We will host the wives of our deceased members; and we are also inviting some members from the past who had to leave because of health or personal reasons. More details in the February Tale. Mark your calendar to be there that night and go ahead and ask your sweetheart to join you. Our speaker for the evening will be Lori Kunkle, R.N. Cardiovascular/stroke Program Coordinator, Butler Health Systems, Cardiovascular Center. Ms. Kunkle is a member of the American Heart Association Education and Advocacy Committee. How appropriate this program will be to talk of matters of the heart on Valentine’s Day!
